Another Cold Front Showers Tonight Dry Thursday Friday

Clouds Over The Weekend

The relatively quiet weather pattern continues today. One cold front that moved offshore last night is to the east and it took clouds and showers with it. The other is to our northwest moving through the Great Lakes and that will trigger off a few showers tonight. In between we have a nice weather day of sunshine that will likely give way to some clouds later in the day. Temperatures this afternoon will be in the mid to upper 40s from NYC north and east and low to mid 50s from Philadelphia south and west.

Tonight’s cold front is relatively moisture starved so look for a cloudy evening with a few showers moving through before 1am and then out and offshore. Not everyone will see showers but we will leave the chance up for all, and then it turns colder behind the front once it is offshore. Skies should clear out by morning with lows in the low to middle 30s.

A cold high will be building for Thursday and Friday so even though we will have sunshine Thursday, it will be a breezy and cold day with highs in the low to mid 40s. Friday morning will be very cold across the area with most lows in the teens to near 20 degrees!

Friday will be a cold dry day to finish off the week with sunshine and highs in the cold low to mid 30s which is about 10 degrees below average. The core of the cold air will be moving out over the weekend as low pressure heads from the Rockies to the Plains and eventually into Southern Canada. This low tracks so far to our west that we will likely see little in the way of rain from this over the weekend.

We will have some cloud issues over the weekend as a warm front sets up to our south on Saturday. Temperatures will be in the 40s to near 50 for highs Saturday. There might be the odd shower or some spotty drizzle but overall it will just be a cloudy day especially along the coast. Pehaps inland the sun could make an appearance. Sunday the warm front should move to our north but the approaching cold front for late Sunday doesn’t look to produce much other than a few showers. Highs should be back into the 50s from NYC north and east and in the 60s from Philadelphia south and west. A second low will come out of the Plains and track further east Monday so we should see a higher chance for rain late Monday and Monday night. No big storms or noreasters or snow risks are on the table for the next week to 10 days.
