A Mix of Everything Today A Little Sun A Little Rain
Severe Weather Risk South Jersey Southward
There are a few weather issues for today thanks to one disturbance exiting to the east and another that is coming up from the southwest. Firstly we have have east winds today along with clouds and that will hold temperatures down. Most highs will be in the lower 70s inland and only in the 60s along the coast. Clouds will limit sunshine and help also to keep temperatures in check.
The east wind is also going to bring in a stable marine layer so thunderstorm activity over Northern New Jersey east to Southern New England will not occur. However there is risk for thunderstorms and the chance for isolated severe thunderstorms from Southern New Jersey and points southward into Delaware, Maryland, and much of Pennsylvania and this where the Storm Prediction Center is highlighting risk for later today and tonight.

WEATHER RADAR
Shower activity is on the radar to the south and we look for that to move northward later today. In the meantime we will be dry. The area of rain does not at this time appear to be all that impressive. Expect on and off scattered showers this afternoon and tonight and if you are in Pennsylvania and New Jersey south, watch for the possibility of a thunderstorm or two in the mix.
Today’s weather system is only the latest in a series of weather systems that have been moving along in the flow from west to east. Another one Monday is likely to bring with it the chance for some scattered showers or a thunderstorm but it also appears that there will be long dry stretches in the mix overnight into Monday. Monday high temperatures. will be in the low to mid 70s inland and 60s along the coast.
Tuesday we are likely to see the last in a series of weather systems moving through and with that system there could be another shower or thunderstorm. It appears that the front could pass through early in the day so that after morning showers are done weather conditions could improve Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures Tuesday will be mostly in the 70s.
We will return to warm and summery conditions for the second half of next week. It looks as if we will have more in the way of sunshine Wednesday into Friday and far less in the way of any shower or thunderstorm activity. More sun and a west southwest wind means temperatures will be heading back into the 80s for highs and warm overnight lows in the 60s to near 70 degrees.
