A Day of Variable Conditions Some Light Rain Early
Then Some Improvement Later In The Day
No below freezing temperatures this morning but we do have clouds and patches of light rain around. Some of you are getting it and others not. Expect the rain areas to play through and move offshore mid to late morning and we will see some improvement in the afternoon. Some sunshine might break through the clouds. South winds are holding temperatures back somewhat but highs should reach the low to mid 60s with cooler 50s along shore locations.

Dry air should allow skies to at least partially clear out tonight with most lows in the 40s except for a few 30s in the coldest inland location. Thursday is looking to be the best weather day of the week. Weak high pressure will be along the coast and this should give us a partly to mostly sunny day. High temperatures inland Thursday will be in the 70s with south and east facing shorelines a bit cooler.
Moving on to Friday we have some changes coming as a back door cold front drops southward and winds turn to the east. Initially we will have only a few clouds around Thursday night and Friday but as the day wears on and the onshore flow starts to strengthen, we will probably see some more cloud cover take hold. On the whole we will call it partly sunny at least to start the day with highs in the 50s coast, 60s inland but there will be wide spread from low to high and from east to west.
Over the weekend we are going to be dealing with a “gloom & doom” set up thanks to winds off the ocean and low pressure moving northwest to southeast on the stalled front to the south. We will see lots of clouds and there will be some rain later Saturday lasting into Sunday morning. There will be a sharp cut off to the east as far as the rain is concerned, and the rain will be heavier to the south from Central New Jersey to Delaware so we have to work out the specifics with this. Temperatures both Saturday and Sunday will be in the 50s. Perhaps we could see some slow improvement later Sunday once the rain ends early on.
