Tropical Depression Forming In Eastern Atlantic
Latest satellite pictures show the disturbed weather in the Eastern Atlantic continues to organize and there is now well defined circulation. This system is very close to being upgraded to a tropical depression and the National Hurricane Center indicates a 90% chance of this happening overnight or on Wednesday. This system is moing to the west or west northwest and will continue to do so over the next several days. Conditions remain favorable for this system to become a tropical storm at some point.
The still shot sateliite picture below shows how well defined this system is. A core circulation appears to have formed. There also appears to be excellent outflow. Upper air winds are light and there isn’t much shearing going on.

The pattern in the Atlantic shows a weakness in the upper ridge which suggests this system will recurve around 50 or 55 west. At least that is the model outlook at the moment as the upper ridge in the Atlantic breaks down.
