Flash Flood Watch Continues
The Flash Flood Watch continues for the Lower Hudson Valley as well as the Northern Half of New Jersey and most of Eastern Pennsylvania north of Route 76. Watching the radars this evening it appears that downpours and thunderstorms have been developing to the wst and north have been unimpressive. In fact the eastern areas of these showers have not been holding together well at all. Neither the HRRR model or the NAM 4km model do much with these showers overnight.
It has to be a very frustrating exercise for the Weather Service the last few days with the flood watches going up and then coming down and then going up again. We will continue to watch the radars but so far it appears that downpours may be few and far between. This is not good news for Long Island which saw very little rain over the weekend while areas to the west and north got hammered with 2 to 8 inches of rain in some places.
