Rain Wind Flooding FiOS1 News

It looks to be a nasty day all the way around. A major storm is moving northeast into the Ohio Valley right now. Tropical moisture is moving up the east coast. It all sets up for  heavy rain with localized flooding, up to a couple of inches is forecast for the entire area. To top it off there should be a line of thunderstorms that will develop ahead of the cold front and those will add some more punch to all this some time this evening and tonight.

Right now the satellite loop shows the dominant intensifying storm as it moves northeast and the arm of thunderstorms that is now swinging around through the Southeastern States.

You are beginning to see areas of heavy rain developing to our south. It should not rain continuously but it will be moving through in waves all day long until the cold front nears. As warm tropical air beings to move into the area we should start to see a line of strong thunderstorms develop to our west and south. Some areas south of here might even see some strong to severe thunderstorms developing from this system. You actually can see the beginnings of those storms developing on the loops below.
