Noreaster threat looms for the weekend. Noreaster conditions will be an issue later Friday night and Saturday along the east coast. All models point to this and the new daytime GFS continues the overnight model trends of a secondary low deeper and further south.
NOREASTER THREAT LATEST NEW MORNING GFS MODEL VIDEO ANALYSIS
If there is one thing I learned a long time ago and that is you really need to have an open mind with forecasting which I try to do. Models change and I hope that the videos at least give you a sense of that . And as they change you try and make sense of all the puzzle pieces and how they come together. Some people think that a forecaster should be able to make exact statements and they get mad if you dont..others get mad if you make exact statments because they think you shouldn’t!!
That being said, the overnight and now the day run GFS continue recent trends of a slightly colder look but I still dont think it will be enough to change the forecast for the coast. However for areas south of I-90 down to route 84 the door is now open slightly for colder air to drain down on the back side as the low intensifies. Noreaster conditions are likely along the coast which means heavy rain and wind along with the risk of coastal flooding beginning later Friday night and much of Saturday before the low pulls away to the northeast.
Here is the brand new morning GFS model run analysis
I will post the European view later today.
