Record High Temperatures For Santa Claus
We continue to see the propect for record high temperatures for Wednesday into Early Christmas morning with Christmas eve possibilities of seeing highs reaching into the 70s in many areas. In fact all time December highs could be at risk being shattered in some areas. Here is PIX-11 webcast from tonight with JOESTRADAMUS doing the long range on the European.
Satellite loop this evening shows warm air coming in from the west in the form of clouds but no precipitation. Look for temperatures not going very far tonight between clouds and a developing southwest wind. Those two factors will keep temperatures overnight in check with most lows in the 30s to around 40.
For Monday we will clouds and some sunshine with highs back into the 50s. Monday night into Tuesday a weak front will move through with just an isolated shower. Then later Tuesday an area of rain should move up from the south followed by more rain on Wednesday as a warm front fights its way through. Once that front passes temperatures could rise into the 60s and that sets us up for a blast furnace on Christmas Eve with record high temperatures probably reaching the 70s.
One positive will be the rain as models are forecasting up to a couple of inches of rain in some places spread out over Tuesday through Thursday. More showers are possible on Christmas Eve before another front passes. Depending on the fronts timing we could have more record high temperatures for Christmas day set right after midnight before it cools off for Christmas day.
